German Energy Center & College, Shanghai (2009-2010)
During the Shanghai World Expo 2010, the German Center in Shanghai provided space to build several energy efficient building showcases for various German suppliers in this field. Bencer was responsible for managing the "German Energy Center & College". Leading German experts specialized in Green Building construction were involved in the design of this showcase.
The building meets the highest energy saving standards as well as the highest quality standards regarding building materials and workmanship. Renewable energies such as geothermal energy and solar energy were used to lower the energy consumption of the building.
The GFA is around 500 m2. The design started in August 2009; construction completion was in April 2010 and Bencer provided the Project Management services and the Engineering Consultancy.
