Energy Efficient School, Mianyang (2009-2010)
The German Government, the German Energy Agency (DENA) together with the listed German Fresenius AG sponsored the new construction of in total 8 schools in Sichuan province, China. The Sichuan region was severely damaged during the earthquake in 2008, so many school facilities are to be rebuilt.
The sponsored schools completed in 2009 and 2010 and were built in cooperation with German companies. The new school building in Mianyang, co-sponsored by DENA and Fresenius AG, was designed and built as an energy efficient building show case. The basis for the energy efficient design was the German Energy Saving Design Code EnEV.
The design of the 5,000 m2 school building was finished in July 2009; the construction was completed in May 2010.
